From the archives, user name unknown:
"Just completed a 4 corner weight on my car with a set of Intercomp digital scales, and was quite impressed with the results. Would like to compare with other brands/engine combo's if anyone has the data. Here's my results: 1/2 tank gas, me in the car. Car is a Classic Roadster w/SVO 460/Tremec/8.8/ battery in Rt. trunk."
Rt Fr:701 lbs
Lf Fr:744 lbs
Rt Rr:733 lbs
Lf Rr:687 lbs
Total Fr: 1445 lbs
Total Rr: 1420 lbs
Total Lf: 1431 lbs
Total Rt: 1434 lbs
EDIT:
Looks like this guy's weighed in at 2865. Thats about right for a C.R. They have a thicker body than many other Cobras, they are bigger than most and they are an EXCELLENT car.

If the guy that Excaliber mentioned weighs about 165 (he was in the car) and you subtract 100# for the difference in the 460 andyour small block Cheby that explains the difference.
That would put the CR about 3-400 # heaver than the average Cobra Replica.

My Excalibur which is very very similiar to a Classic Roadster with half tank of gas and 302 SB weighed right about 2650-2700. AFTER subtracting my weight.
I'm still looking for that thread where a LOT of Cobra weights were compared. C.R. is not the heaviest one out there, but toward the top. West Coast Stallion I think was the big one. FFR was the lightest in the "glass" cars. The Kirkhams/Shelbys are pretty light, 2200-2300 pounds? Anything under 2200 I would consider "rare". 2400-2600, pretty common actually.

That was me!
We did a weigh-in at our inaugural Ohio Cobra Club meeting back in September of 2001(see my photo gallery). Hard to forget, because of what was to follow 3 days later...9/11.
But, back to subject at hand. DV, these numbers should look familiar to you! This is your creation! I was amazed at the near perfect balance with the big block. Aumoore, your observation is very astute, as I weigh in at 170#'s. Without me in the car, it was right at 2700#'s. The balance was actually better with me in the car. If I recall, Les had the lightest car that day, his FFR weighed in around 2300# with a 5.0 engine.
Now for the good news! We are planning to have this very same scale set-up for DVSF3! We will weigh your Cobra at all 4 wheels with and without you in the car. Donations for this will go to Team Jenny. DV, I hope I'm not stealing your thunder here! Thought this would a good thread to start spreading the word.
Glad my info was useful to others!

Actually Excaliber- I've got the DV car. I bought it from Dalola early this year and had it shipped to Alaska. Haven't even driven it yet. been polishing the heck out of it though.
Dalola, yea, I thought those numbers looked awfully familiar. I went through my paper work after reading Excalibers post and, yup, there they were!

Ex....Now that is scary! Hell, I like to keep track of them! Which reminds me. Does anyone know the where-abouts of the Chinook Winds Casino Cobra we did a few years ago? Red & White, black interior, built up 302-EFI?
History as I know it: 73 Year old female won it, DROVE the heck out of it for two weeks, called me wanting a book value. Said she was going to sell it because one of her 40+ year old sons was either going to kill her for it, or they were going to kill each other over it!
That Friday, she sold it to a Ford dealer in Oregon (Casino's home town) he called me Friday night and asked about the car. Monday the NEW owner (3 days..that must be a record!) called and I had the same conversation with him.
A year later a man/wife team that delivers cars out of Pa. was delivering a car to Oregon, where the husband spotted the car and did what most of us true Cobra lovers do- eyes glazed, mouth went dry and he muttered to himself for months. This was his wifes description! Seems a few months later they were about to celebrate a 30 +/- anniversay. She tracked me down through the Vin plate on the car, bought the car for her hubby and sent him out to Oregon to pick it up. She never told him what he was picking up, just simply an old Ford
She called me once again a few months later and wanted information on the Fling. I never did find out if they made last years Fling or not? All I know is that they were from eastern Pa. If anyone knows of them, thell them to call home!
You truly never, never own one of my cars. You can however take it home for a long time with a small down payment!
Dave, no thunder to steal fella! I call it "HELPING OUT!" I'll have to look, but I think Tom has that listed on the Site for Saturday and Sunday!
I did tell you that the Dyno will be with us on Sat. and Sunday too didn't I?

Well, DV, I wonder how many states you have Cobras in! Artic Snake now represents Alaska. A-S, I hope you haven't rubbed all the paint off with your judicious polishing!
I checked the DVSF website, didn't see anything in the schedule. Maybe it hasn't updated yet. When we do the ramp test, we can take a few pix to use for promotional purposes.
Who ordered this Ohio weather???

Dave,
I was tickeled to see it go to Alaska. I honestly thought that would be my last State! Now, if I can just talk Excaliber to go over the edge, I will have them all!
DV..we will have the scales on the site soon!

Hey DV. Need a northwest distributor? I bet I could sell-em faster than you can make-em
Dave, I've got this baby really shined up. Been plowing the snow and ice in my driveway a few millimeters each day. I'm down to asphalt in a few spots. Won't be long now! I am thinking about changing my CC handle to FROSBIT (you already know the story).

Well frostbit, aka A-S, surely a little dead flesh won't bother a guy who would drink from a shot glass with a human toe in the bottom!
My Cobra withdrawl has eased today 'cuz it's 40 degrees and raining! Keep scraping on that driveway....you'll wanna be ready when the sun comes out!
