I agree with what Brett said.
I don't think he sees his car/Cobra as a "kit car" or competing with "kit car replicas". In fact he sued the kit car companies claiming they pirated his trade dress, logo, Cobra name etc.. He clearly wanted to put the kit cars out of the business of "counterfiting" his Cobra.
