not clear why this is a poll?
will we change the laws of the universe if the majority of people vote for the 'incorrect' answer?

What's it matter? If you're talking Cobra's, the 351 is going to have aluminum heads also.
If you add the weight of your wallet after buying either a stock 351W or a 427FE with Al heads, the 351+wallet is definately heavy than the 427+wallet

And the answer is.....
Only 13 out of 46 got it right.
A FE with aluminum heads and intake weighs the same as a 351 Windsor.

How about this question. Which is faster, a 351 with aluminum heads or an fe with any heads? No poll needed. scott

No doubt the FE drains the bank account faster - no poll needed

Coyled,
I would say a FE with any head.
A427SC, Don, I don't know him, but he runs the Northeast Challange and other track events, and he routinely is the fastest or in the top several against all other cobra's. He runs an ERA, which is one of the heaviest replica chassis's, and runs a 427 with I think iron heads, and still is faster than many other cobra's with lighter chassis's as well as them also running 302's and 351 based engines, even with supercharger's. So, if any cobra would be considered a "tank", I think his would be. Of course, he probably knows how to drive and "set up" his car correctly.
Actually, from what I've seen, I think there are many more important factors then just the weight difference between a FE and sb ford that determines how fast a car/driver are, and only at the professional racing level would I think it would make a meaningful difference.

:-)
I have seen a 427 with iron heads still winning everything in sight. red car with "198" written at the doors...
even the pedals were the original standing ones, not modified. and the air filter way too small.
although I understand that more development has been put into 351 engines in the last 30 years than in the FE (heads). that should give you an advantage.
