southernfried, what a small world! We must have been there about the same time (I was only there for 18 months). I remember walking out to the base lakes to look for snakes and walking back to the main portion of the base to buy crappy tasting hamburgers wrapped in foil and stored in a steamer.
Maxwell might have been a good place to be a kid, but Elmendorf (Anchorage, Alaska) was 10000% better!!! I can honestly say that it was never hot and humid at Elmendorf.
