First off Welcome to Club Cobra I believe you bought the Shamrock on BaT? Please look that car over (Every Part) some of us, watched the auction, 37K maybe a good price, BUT that car, looks like a Cobra that may need LOTS of care & feeding before it's a SAFE car to drive. Hopefully you can turn a wench (To save Labor cost). Our Cobras are DANGEROUS enough cars to start with, you don't need to add iffy brakes, susp., steering etc. Maybe go to Club intro. and tell us a little about yourself. There are many people here to help you go through your new Cobra, take what they say to heart, they have been there and done that You came to right place, we're here to help, Cheers Tom.

Turning wenches usually ends up costing a lot of money. Heard it from a friend.

Default Jaguar Gearbox and diff.

The rear I think was covered by Ric. I have had a Jaguar 4speed with Electric overdrive behind a strong 408 for years. The O/d unit was strenghtened in the beginning....30yrs ago......by adding phospher bronze facings on the cone clutch. These where common in South Africa...well...GILO Engineering made us custom bellhousings and flywheels for the application. I have that Gearbox today. I did brake 2 nd gear and the input spigot because I put a line bored block up front with out indexing the dowels. Anyway It has a SBC Bellhousing. Super strong. I have different diff ratios over theyearsbusted enginesnever a diff.
