My Oh My!!!!! I'm on the road at last.
I took her for a couple of test spins!!! All seems ok, except for a bit of an oil leak on the pan gasket (grrrr). Seems to run like a champ, and certainly sounds like one.
I actually teared up on the first spin, as I was soooooo happy. Thanks to everyone who has helped on line and financially, I couldn't have done it without you.
YAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!

Brent,
It takes a long time for the excitment to wear off on that first drive. It's one you won't ever forget.
The big question is...Is the Brentmobile gonna ever make it to Da Fling?????
ENJOY...... ENJOY...... ENJOY!!!
Hersh

This was definately no different than each of the other "first drives"! It has been a good day for another Cobra nut today. To think, all this work (unfortunately more than a few times over the last five years) and I'm back on the road. I have been doing nothing but smiling and answering peoples questions about the car since this afternoon! Love it!

There is something really strange about these cars. That silly grin and "First Drive" feeling NEVER really goes away...even if it isn't even your own car. Can't explain it--I guess on this site I don't have to.
Congrats Brent!

Great Job.
Brent, congratulations!
sort of bitter-sweet isn't it? Great job for sticking with it and seeing it through to resolution. Watch out though... it becomes habit forming when you catch yourself continuing to look for something else to do after it's fixed. These cars are never done unless you want them to be.

Grat job, Brent! Glad to hear there was a happy ending to your dramas. Now to the important part - do you have any close-up photos of the blonde doing the gardening across the road from you?!?

Brent, glad you are back on the road. However, we know what a Cobra looks like. How about more pictures of the woman working in the yard?

Brent...
..looks good! One point, you gotta lose either the "PURE" or the "ESSO" sticker, they are both gasoline and a 60's race car would not have carried both. I had seen someone who had both a "WYNN'S FRICTION PROOFING" and a "STP" decal on the car-same thing, both competing products.
Now go drive the snot outa that thing.
