Default In car timing devices

Ben considering an in-car timing device from a stop watch tie wrapped to the steering wheel to one of the track side transmitter/cer receiver units.

How much are te transmitter typs? Who sells them? What is a goo model? What is a good price?

Starting to make the ronds of the different area tracks and want to map my improvements as I learn the tracks/get instruction. cb

In-car lap timers are sold by many gear head outfits (Longacre, Jegs, etc) and will set you back roughly $230-$250). They come with a sensor that is placed at any location around the track and as your car passes they count the lap and time/speed it, much like the transponder. Any that I have seen are made to be firmly attached to the dash in some fashion and the one I used is fixed with sheet metal screws. Inasmuch as my dash is sheet metal that doesn't bother me a bit, but you might blanche at screwing such a device into your Cobra. Not sure if they could be made to work merely zip tied on.
