Default How do I attatch a MS Word document to a thread?

Alright, I have the registration form for the Cobra Civil War, Sept. 20th and 21st in Lancaster, Pa., completed, and I want to make the post and attatch the registration form. It is done in MS Word 97. How do I attatch it here? I don't have it posted on a website anywhere, as I don't have a website yet.

Steve,

Open your Microsoft Word, go to the edit button and select all to highlight the complete document. Then hold the CTRL key down and push the C key. This cuts it to the clipboard. Then log on and open your post. Once the post is open put your curser where you want the document to be and hold down the CTRL key and push the V key. This will put all of the text you have highlighted into the post. It is called cut and paste and I have did it with several pages of stuff from Word in the past.

...or, open document in Word and SAVE AS... a text file (.txt)

Then you can ATTACH the .txt file to a post, just like a picture.
This way it can be opened and/or downloaded.

Make sure the saved text file has the lines, etc. where you want them, since the conversion may mess up the formatting.
(if its a mess, just re-do the form in Notepad and save.)

Ron,
Ooops, left out an important detail. The document has pictures in it. I tried to save it like you suggested, but the photos are gone. Do I have to have this form uploaded to a website and create a link?

If you want to keep pictures and/or formatting... then you have two choices:

1. Yes, put the document on a server somewhere and post the link for members to download.... BUT, remember, they must HAVE Word on their computers to read a Word document.

2. Convert it to a .PDF (Acrobat format) document, which is universally readable with a free reader from Adobe. A .PDF can also be attached to a post, but the size limitation is often a killer for this approach.
However you must have the software to Create a .PDF.. which is not free... either use the Acrobat "writer" program or Pagemaker. Maybe if you know someone who has these tools, they can make a PDF out of your Word doc for you.

Thanks. If it weren't for the pictures, this would be easy. But the pictures are important, because I'm offering t-shirts using them, so I need to get the pics posted.

Anyone have the ability to convert this bad boy to a PDF for me?

Trularin,
Thanks for the offer, I appreciate it. Someone converted it for me already, and I'm all set to go. Now I just need people to sign up and join us, so Mike Mack and I aren't sitting in the field by ourselves!
