Default Bear Mountain Cruise - Tonight

Weather looks good for tonight. Anyone interested in taking a run through 7 Lakes Drive and up to Bear Mt? They get several hundred cars up there on a Wed night. Band, vendors, bbq and inside restaurant and bar.

Roscoe,

Funny I came upon this post - I was up there a couple Sundays ago and saw a sign about a cruise night. Tell me more?

emptor,
It is one of the largest cruise nights that I know of. Several hundred cars, vendors, outdoor bbq, music, indoor restaurant and bar. Free admission of course. Cars, bikes , trucks, etc.
Well worth the trip and a nice ride. If you go come up the Palisades Interstate and take 7 Lakes Drive. It's like a roadrace course. Takes you right to Bear Mt. We should be there around 6:00.

Question

What is the mileage between where we are meeting and Bear mountain?? Any gas stations along the way ...We all know how much my car loves to not pass a gas station on trips..........Then again, what type of traffic are we going to hit that time of day???? I am not what you would call a patient man when it comes to sitting in traffic (go figure)..............We don't want my manic side to come jumping now do we

Bill,
We are meeting up at 4:30-4:45 at the gas station on RT 23 north side just before the 287 entrance (the old Riverdale Circle).

Should not hit too much traffic and once we get to Harriman there is a real nice drive with sharp turns, elevations, etc.

Let me know if you are going to meet us at Riverdale. That way we'll wait for you if you are a bit late.

I don't know what kind of gas it is. It is the station at the bottom of the hill where the old circle used to be, northbound side.

See ya there.

Roscoe,

I'm coming from the other side of the river - Westchester side - so I'll be coming over the Bear Mountain Bridge. Will try hard to make it tonight. How long do things last there, being a Weds night and all? Also, is it every Weds eve or just a few? Thanks for the info!!

Emptor,
It is every wednesday and lasts at least through 9pm and probably later.
Hope to see you. We've got 4 Cobras and a Corvette Grand Sport so far in our group.

Emptor,

One other thing. That road (route 6?) between Camp Smith and the bridge is no slouch either. Can really get your kidneys to touch.

Sounds like it should be easy to find you guys! What color is your car? If I can get out of the chores I promised to do tonight (note the "if") I'll be there!!

P.S. Look for a solid silver SPF with "PWRSLIDE" on the plate...
