Superformance Cobra resale value
I have looked at 3 SPF cobra's, 2 had the stroker motor's the other had a 427 FE. All 3 car's were less than 3 year's old and had low miles. The car's with the stroker motor had a asking price
of 52K and 55K. The 427 car had a asking price of 60K. Which car would have the best resale value in 3 year's. Do you think these asking prices are in line with the market. What would be a fair price to pay for these car's.

Fair price is whatever makes you happy. Stop looking down the road at resale - life is short - and buy a car that you like.

none of these cars are invesments no matter the brand , they are depreciating assets/hobbies. just like lost dollars spent at the country club or boat club or on boats or planes or other toys . cobra replicas, barring any major enigne or trans rebuild/replacement , will depreciate and cost you less in 3 or more yrs than a lincoln or caddy ( or 99% of any regular cars) bought new today and sold in one yr. insurance is cheaper if thru a collector car insur co, maintenance is usually cheaper, cost of ownership annually is cheaper than newer 'civilian' daily driver cars. just go 4 it if you can afford it and have many smiles to the miles. make an offer on the one you want, if they pass, then move on to the next one til ya get a happy compromise that works for you. there are many for sale, as toys are the first things that go when economic times are soft. and yes, plan on it being worth less when you go to sell it, nothing is free and fun things usually cost money to enjoy and appreciate . bill.

I agree 100% with Bill Wells, these cars arent investments, but they will lose much less then buying any new car,,it seems extravagant to some to buy a 50k toy, unless they stop and think how much they will lose on the new car or suv they leased, the way i see it if I keep my car 10 yrs and lose 10k on it,,it is still much smarter than 35k new car ,that EVERYONE has and will be worth 1500 in 10 yrs.
I think if you shop hard, and buy now,and if the economy reaches some kind of stability in the next few years, you may break even or make money,I have seen sweet 427 spf cars on trader for under 40 k in the cold months.but either way have fun,,I do think any quality fe,,especially a 427 will have better resell,,but thats considering you can get into it at a good price,I think if you arent hung up on any one motor,,buy the car you like if the price is fair.Tk

I'm into my car for about $65-70,000. If I had to pay more for it....guess what! I was looking at a new Viper for $85K. I like the Cobra a heck of a lot more!

What are the two "stroker" engines? What are the horsepower ratings for all three engines?
