351C Compression help
I am building a 351 Cleveland with four bolt mains and 4V open chambered heads to use in my Cobra. The heads are are at the builder's shop now. The heads are getting brand new everything and everthing else added to them.
The engine will be going to the shop soon, and from what I have read on Club Cobra, Clevelands like compression and RPM's. I would like some input on what other people believe is the best compression ratio for my build.
This is the first engine that I am building for my 90" wheel base car, and I do not want to wrap it around a pole when I first get it so I am not wanting to go off the deep end with horsepower and torque. I am hoping for a solid 400-425 horsepower and torque. I can always build another engine when I get comfortable (bored) driving this one.
The engine will be mated to a C6 (for now) to a 3.55 rear end.
My driving will mostly consist of cruising the streets around the area and a little track time maybe 2-3 times a year. I will not be driving the Cobra everyday, but I don't want it to be street "unfriendly."
Anyone build a Cleveland and believe that they have too much or too little compression?
Thanks,
James Procrastination Hunter
