Default Insurance

I am a new cobra owner and looking for help with ins. I will be picking up my spf next weekend and wondered if anyone has had experience with Grundy Insurance. Or if there are other ins. companies to check out. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Matt

Matt,

I have American Collectors - I am paying a little less than $400/year, $65K agreed value, 2500 miles/year allowance. Agreed value, in case your not familiar, is the value that the Ins. company will pay in the event the vehicle is a writeoff. That differs conventional policies that only pay a depreciated value (e.g. Kelly blue book value).

Never refer to it a a kit to the Ins. people, instead use the term "factory built replica" for your SPF. They may also look at your driving record closely.

Best of Luck,
Jim

I use State Farm. My car is insured as a daily driver (about 8 K miles expected per every 6 months), not just for cruising and show. I have an agreed value of $65,000. I also have sub-24 year old daughter whos legal residence is my address. I have million dollar liability, etc. My rate is about $1100 per year assuming I do not drive for the 6 winter months. I am assuming IA is like MI and you do not want to expose your car to the winter elements.
