Default "Sweet Mother of God"!!!!

I had heard about a Cobra in a garage in my neighborhood over the past year and made many drive-bys on the house and finally caught the garage door open and stopped to talk to the guy...
I knew the guy casually but not well enough to just knock on his door and ask to see his car..
The Cobra was amazing... A Contemporary with a 427 (some kind of oiler), Dove heads,428 crank, Webers, Ford toploader,Jag IRS etc... I'm not a motor head but those were a few of the things that I remember him telling me about the engine and car.... He offered to let me take the car out for a spin but I declined, I was content with a ride...
How can there ever be a debate regarding a SB/BB? I have never felt that kind of acceleration in my life... It was one of the most beautiful cars I have seen and that BB power was awesome.. I swear it could rip your head off...
He brought the car out to the Quaker Steak and Lube that evening and everyone that looked at the car had nothing but praise... No one would have changed a thing...
Now I'm wondering what a set of Webers would look like under my hood... I don't expect that kind of power but they sure would look great!!!! My wife was wondering when I'd start dumping money into the car...

Nothing like a BB.

Technically, God has no Mother - you could say "Mother of Jesus" and acutally be correct but say it too often and you'll be pegged as a Catholic - not that there is anything wrong with that.

Seriously, it's neat to hear of your experience and one I can relate to since I also own a Contemporary with a 427 w/ (some kind of oiler), etc. I also, however, have been in GeorgiaSnakes SB Unique and can attest from 1st hand experience that you SB boys have it going on! Enjoy your ride and if no do so - webers as well. Best wishes!

Ah Webers!!! Yes, I am familiar with the sickness. Lots of bucks and a sorting out process. But once done, well, they run sweet, and nothing else looks quite as purposeful. Always a crowd pleaser.

It's clearly a little more of a hassle on a 351 as you either have to put spacers on a 289 manifold or track down one of the handful of 351 manifolds around.

In any event, I would do it again. In fact, I plan on it.

Just do it.

Doesn't Inglese offer 351 manifolds in their new parts catalog?

By golly, you're correct. I just took a look at the new listing. Inglese does have a 48 IDA set-up listed for a 351W, but with limited availability. If they've started making the manifolds, that's good news.

That's the good news - the not so good news is the $$$. The Weber look comes at a premium.
Hilborn offers an injection system that looks like a nice stack of Webers and adds about 70 silky smooth HP to my stroked 351. But that rascal installed is close to eight grand.
So many toys - so little time.

Al,

Is that our neighboor, the good doctor, over off Wagar road? Thought you were talking about my car until you mentioned the color

Saw his car two winters ago with Gary... love the Webers!

BTW, won't be up at Tony Roma's tonight - just got an invite to the Indians game, (haven't forgot about the decals; they are on my kitchen table ready to go).
