This is the fourth annual run to Frankenmuth. The plan is for the two groups, East and West.
Rick Kacel will organize the Eastern group and his message will follow in a few days and will follow their traditional route.
The group form the West side will meet at US23 and Lee road. Lee Road is about one mile South of I 96 on 23. It’s the first exit south of 96. There is a paved lot located at the northwest corner. We have a completely new route this year, which should be a lot more fun then just running up US 23. The plan is to go via 96 to the Howell exit and then go north through Howell via Oak Grove road to Byron Road to Lansing road to Sheridan road (past I 69) all the way up to Birch Run road then turn East on Birch Run road and go to 83 and then turn north. The East and West groups will meet at the dinner just north of the 83 54 intersection. From there the combined groups will run up 83 to Frankenmuth. For the West group, it will be 74 mile 1.5 hour run with only about 8 miles on the expressway (I 96). We ran the course last week and the roads are all in great to good shape.
Reservations are for 2PM at Zenders. The WEST group will meet at the US 23/ Lee Road lot at 11:45 and we will try and leave at noon.
