Only one week until Lancaster, Pa. Cobra gathering. Sign up!
Only one more week until the Cobra Civil War. So far, we have about 30 people confirmed attending.
We have a whole large field in Longs' Park reserved just for us. Let's try to fill it up as much as we can. Sign up and join us on Saturday, Sept. 20th. We will have a BBQ/car show from 11am to 3pm. We have a Franklin Mint model Cobra to raffle off and will have plenty of food.
We're going to take a nice cruise once it is over. Still trying to make a final decision on exactly where we will go. One thought is the Pennsylvania Renaissance Fair. http://www.parenaissancefaire.com/ I haven't been to this fair, but it is supposed to be really cool. Lots of things to do, great places for dinner, and a brew pub for those of you who want to have a beer (assuming you have another driver). There are several people who are planning on staying overnight in Lancaster, and we will go to Hershey Park on Sunday or do something together.
I hope to see lots of you out there next Saturday.
Pick up the registration form on the sticky post on this forum.

Steve,
I'll be there with a friend who is starting the search for his dream car. Once he took a ride in one, he was hooked. Now he's gotta find one to play with. I'm looking forward to meeting you' all. No, not a Rebel, just practicing. See ya Saturday !

Steve:
I'll find out tomorrow whether or not I need surgery. The leg feels well on its way and ready to clutch, but I'll let you know.
Just in case, is Sunday the rain date?

Scott,
Best of luck tomorrow. Hope you don't need surgery.
Yes, Sunday is a rain date. But I think I'm going to have to make a call by Thursday afternoon (geez, had to do this same damn thing for the Revolution ). My concern is that if the hurricane takes direct aim at Lancaster, as the forcasters are predicting, I think it would be a while before the field is in any condition for a car show. Imagine if they get 8 inches of rain. There is no way the grass will be in shape to have Cobras drive on it Saturday or Sunday. I really, really hope that doesn't happen, but I also don't want people coming all the way out to park their cars in a mud bog. Let's hope for the best....

Steve,
Current forecast is calling for ~3 inches of rain, primarily on Friday, clearing overnight for a nice day on Sat.
Its only water.

Jim,
I'm hoping that the storm misses us. From the latest I can see, it looks like the worst of it will be well to our west. But if it gets closer to us, it could be a ton of rain. It's not the water I am concerned with, it's the mud. We're supposed to be in a large grass field. If it gets 5,6,7...inches of rain, it'll be a pond. Or we'll be doing mud bogging. I just would hate to have people drive all the way out here to get stuck in the mud or have mud everywhere on the cars. Don't know if there is a solid ground place out there where we can set up. I have a call into the Longs' Park people and am waiting to hear back from them.
I'd really hate to cancel it, I'm really looking forward to this. But at the same time, I don't want it to be a disaster.
Steve
