30 miutes left,,,,you'll never make it!
OK,,,OK,,,,I'll do a search on e-bay under the Kirkhams find the car in question and I'LL post the link then!!! Sheessssshhhhh
...of course it's e-bay!
For you folks with dial up go here first:
http://www.kirkhammotorsports.com/home.cfm
Then scour the home page until you get lucky to find the link to e-bay. Several pages later (at what, 56K speed and an hour search?) you MIGHT get lucky and the find the car in question.
Me? I got Road Runner, I'm there all ready!

What am I missing here?
......the LINK!
Auction is over, you won't be able to find it now. The car was sold for about $8K?
Hey did you know about the other Kirkham being auctioned? Now at $84K. Sorry, apparently this is a "no links" allowed thread. Good hunting though!

Anyone have the item #? Surely someone had it marked as a watched item, or a bid on item?

Hey if you have the talent to put this together, it was a great deal.

Gents:
We view it as advertising. Some go high...some go low. When we say no reserve--we mean it.
We just think you all would be happier if we spent our advertising dollars on the customer--instead of the magazines.

Was that the one described as a "replacement body"?

Ernie,
When I asked "what am I missing here", I thought it was an aluminium model Cobra... and I mean a Cobra model....
Thought it was a little high for a model car even though it was a Kirkham...
See what drugs and alcohol does.

Actually, it was a frame + skin. The frame was complete with all subtubes, the skin was the complete body in "just as welded" condition.
It will take some major work to put it together. If you've got the skill to wrap aluminum over a frame and do the body work, it was one heck of a deal.
It's quite unlikely that we'll ever sell that particular combination again. It was a configuration for a show car, and since the time of producing this, our gents in Poland have become proficient at working stainless.

O/T
Steve,
This is O/T, I and don't mean to point fingers at anyone, but I had dinner with some folks from Germany over the weekend. They tell me it is a huge problem in Germany that cars get stolen and taken into Poland, where thay cannot be retrieved. Ever noticed the "quality" of the cars you see in Poland?

Not sure what you mean by the "quality" of the cars in Poland. Funny, the Poles say the same thing...just about the Ukrainians. I guess all of Europe just points their finger east when thinking about problems. Sad, but true.

This should explain a bit:
This is the most descriptive picture I could find. Here it is a bit larger (800x600)
If you think you might need a link to eBay's list of our auctions, you can go to this page and bookmark it. Instead of pointing to any particular auction, it's just a list of the current ones.
Not trying to be pushy, it's just that some folks appear to have trouble pulling up auctions in time.
Thanks.
