I am in north OC, no fire here but it smells like that time my vacuum cleaner caught on fire, and it's snowing ashes.

Hey Fixit, how's it going?

Looking out my window at 2:45 and it is nearly dark as night. My house is near the fires, but so far so good.

Luckily for me, I am an hour's drive west of one fire, a half-hour's drive east of the Simi Valley fire, and three hours north of the San Diego fires! Sky is smoky brown above Dodger stadium, near my work. Satellite photos show the smoke 200-300 miles out to sea!

NOAA has two good links:

This is a still image, updated every 15 mins.

This is a 2-hour loop (animation)

The pics are real-time, so if you look at them when SoCal is at night... they will be dark.
