What hat do you wear while driving your Cobra?

To block the harmful sun rays I wear a baseball cap tight, but it still tries to blow away. Lynn Park wears a Mounty hat with a chin strap and it seems to work for him. What do you wear that you don't have to hold on to while driving your Cobra.

Baseball cap backwards seems to stay on fine for me.

Hehehehe....:3DSMILE:

Why, my Original Gashole cap recently signed by Dubya his own self...of course!;)

Gasholes tend to flip them around at speeds above 50 for security...and attitude's sake.:JEKYLHYDE

Jamo,

I tend not to wear my prized Gasholes hat while driving. I'd rather have the doors or the hood fly off than my hat. Maybe we need to come up with a Gasholes hat with a chin strap.:3DSMILE:

BTW, that is an original, "GASHOLE" , not "GASHOLES".

My Club Cobra cap with a small elastic strap attached to the cap by clips that goes under my chin. Works great and just remove the clips when I get ready to take it off. No modifications to the cap at all.

I like dannas

Gives me that pirate look and they really keep the dirt and sun off my head, and keeps my hair from flying around. Unlike many convertable owners, I still have my hair ;)

If it's cold and I want to go topless, I have several barnstormer leather helmets and a leather/wool black military beret with a cool jeweled celtic shield and sword badge

I have a nice white baseball style cap with an embroidered Cobra patch in the center, what make is different is I have small cords much like some of you might have on the back of your sunglasses when you hang them around your neck.Except these have electrical aligator clips that I attach to my ear lobes! The constant pain keeps me awake and I haven't lost a hat yet!!!

The only thing that will stay on is a visor with an elastic strap. If I wear a baseball cap I have to wear a hooded sweatshirt at speed. I've also used a string to make sure my baseball caps don't get away.

I wear a baseball cap and my wife puts thump tacks through it into my head to make sure it doesn't blow off... She seems to enjoy doing it and I haven't lost a hat yet... Gosh, I love that woman...

Funny thread. I have a selection of baseball caps & visors that I wear, but have found that above 70 mph, they must be turned backwards.

Actually, the "backward hat turn" has kinda become my signature move around here. Anytime my passengers or the kid next to me at the stoplight sees me do that, they know things are about to get serious.

Kinda like in "Bullitt" when the bad guy in the Charger puts his seat belt on and pulls it tight, ya know?

Mesh baseball hats. Mesh lets the air pass through, so they don't blow off like solid hats.

MOST OF THE TIME - - -

I WEAR MY "GASHOLES" CAP WITH THE CROATION FLAG EMBROIDERED ON THE BACK.

I FOUND A RED ELASTIC CORD ABOUT 18" LONG THAT'S DESIGNED TO SLIP ONTO THE EAR PIECES OF EYEGLASSES. I UNSNAP THE BACK OF THE CAP AND SLIP THE "EARPIECE LOOPS" OVER THE ADJUSTMENT STRAP. I PUT THE CORD OVER MY HEAD BEFORE PUTTING THE CAP ON. IT AIN'T GOIN' NOWHERE - AT LEAST NOT WITHOUT MY HEAD.

WHEN I'M NOT IN THE COBRA I JUST FOLD THE CORD UP INTO THE CAP AND PUT IT ON. IT'S ALWAYS THERE WHEN I NEED IT.

Y'ALL HAVE A REALLY GREAT DAY.

My Ford Racing hat or my AOPA hat (if you know what that stands for, then you'll get the connection).

A helmet at the track.......

......naked on the street.

The gold standard:

Another good choice. Note, this one must be worn backwards--it will still blow off, but it is only fair to the drivers of brand x or brand y--who would otherwise have no chance of seeing the manufacturer brand name:
