I had never seen a good picture of CSX 2142 until I saw this in Rinsey Mills book: AC Cobra - the Truth behind the Anglo-American Legend

The car was originally raced with a hardtop. Without it, you can see where they got the 427 body shape. It even has a rivetted hood scoop.

Bob...there had to be some serious body work since 2142 was raced.

This is 2142 in its day...



It still had the slab-wells, with a bit of a forward-flare on the rear arches...but definitely not the rounded-rump as shown today.

Default Looks VERY Different
Ron, also now has an oil cooler cut-out,
smaller things looks like a different rearview mirror,
and missing those auxiliary driving lights on the quick-jacks.
