Gentelmen, Please help I am looking for a tool or what ever you may use to tighten the round bezel for the switches. Im a little leary to use a screw driver for fear a it slipping and ripping dash. Thanks.....

Hey Bob,
Check Radio Shack.
I agree, the wrench will be a 'dashsaver'.

Hi Bob:
A company called Klein Tools makes a real nice set of sharp Long Nose Pliers which, if used with care, can fit nicely into the two detents of the typical bezel nut.
I once found a set of socket tools made expressly for the removal and tightening of those dashboard bezel nuts. The set was sold at an industrial supply house and was very expensive in my opinion. So I passed. Just could not buy the one socket I wanted, had to buy the entire set.
Another option is to make you own tool out of hard sheet aluminum whos thickness is aprox the same as the detents on the bezel nut.
Let us know what you find.

I second Art's suggestion of improvising with sharp needle-nose.
A piece of heavy card stock ( about playing card size) with a hole cutout to the outer diameter of the switch bezel can be placed over the switch before tightening. This will allow you to apply even pressure to the vinyl and also provide a "mask" should the tool slip.

Placing nylon or plastic washers under the nut will also prevent the nut from cutting your dash material. These can be purchased at most hardware stores.

A Ford Galaxie parts supplier has a reasonably priced tool (About $8) made of aluminum just for these switch nuts. Go to www.concoursparts.com Part # A-10 $6.95
