Question Cobra Emblem Placement?

I see many Cobras with no Cobra emblem on the trunk. In my Cobra Restorers book the Cobra S/C was pictured with an emblem on the trunk. Can anyone help out since my Superformance came with no emblem on the trunk. I'm not sure which is correct.

Hey Zoom....

I'm pretty sure the emblem you're speaking of is a white round badge...with a snake in the center and the word "Cobra" about a 1/3 way up from the bottom. The perimeter of the badge has a red rim around it.

This is the same emblem (I believe) as the one on the front. These emblems are available from the Finish Line. www.cobraaccessories.com

Thanks for your reply blykins. I am trying to determine if it is a correct restoration placement to affix the Cobra emblem to the trunk or not. My restoration book does not speak to this directly, but does however show a photo of an original 427 S/C with the emblem on the trunk.

Superformance (as well as all other replica mfg's) are not legally able to affix the Cobra badge to their products.

You, as a private owner, can do what you want.

Original Cobras had the nose and trunk badges, as well as the side badges above the louvres.

ERA's site has the correct placement for the emblems.

Mustangs Unlimited has these emblems for about $2-3 more and much better quality.
