Anyone use a T-10 in their Cobra?

Using a Borg Warner T-10 is really not the best idea for something that produces north of 350+ horsepower. While the original roadsters used them, and even the Daytona Coupes, they were superceded by the Muncie (GM) and Toploader (Ford).

The aluminum case on the T-10 had difficulty with the mounting flanges cracking. Remington once told me they had to go back to using the cast iron case on the T-10 because of that problem. The Factory competition Cobras (FIA/Daytonas) didn't use Ford gearing, either, but substituted the Chevrolet gear sets into the case because of the better ratios.

I'm not really sure how you would mount a reverse shifter to a T-10, as the 427 Cobra never used that transmission.

In my mind, the only reason for using a T-10 is for sake of authenticity (Corvettes '57-mid '63). There are much better boxes available. If you plan on shifting hard, a la drag racing style, be prepared to spend a lot of time replacing 2nd/3rd gears and synchros.
