Backdraft #69 Completed.
Sooo after the last 6 months of questioning myself on the engine build, choices etc, the baby is finally complete.......
The car is Backdraft #69 (Titanium w/ Black Stripes)
Engine is:
1969 351W
Edelbrock RPM heads, intake and cam.
Edelbrock 750 carb
KB 10.5:1 Pistons
Shotpeened Rods
New ford flywheel
Fluiddampr
Tremec 3550
MSD 6AL
MSD Billet Distrib
Here are the pics I am verry happy so far. Just have the small stuff on the car to get through (gas fill, some glue, a few odds and ends).
I want to thank EVERYONE for their help and patience while folks like myself go through and learn. This forum has been great for information. I would also like to thank Armond Caprio @ California Cobras ( http://www.cacobra.com) for all his hard work on the car. Armond is a SUPERB person to deal with and I would recommend to anyone!!!!!

Beautiful looking car.
What is the paint that you used?
What was the most challenging time of the build?

Brainbug your right about Armond. I stopped by there last week was checking out the BDR cars. He took the time to show them off and answer all of our questions.
Congrats on the car. Hope to see you buzzing around San Diego soon.

Chaplin - thanks... I am sort of an amatuer photographer. I try and take nice ones... some of them come out really nice, I am blessed with a great spot to take them from, its my work parking lot here in San Diego......
Jwheaton - it was painted by backdraft and its Titanium with Black stripes. I actually opted to have someone assemble the larger chunks of the car.. I assembled the engine, picked all of the components. The most challenging part of building this car with Backdraft and Armond was waiting.. hehe seriously.... the car was delivered I had the engine ready, trans was new, Armond slapped it all together in about 1 week.
I LOVE THE CAR.

Congrats!!!
Nice to see it finished. I had the opportunity to see and sit in your car down at Armonds. Ultimately, after seeing your car live and in person is what got me to order mine right on the spot - also, titanium and black (possibly charcoal stripe).
#127 is on order and scheduled to hit Armond's shop in mid-to late-January. We are doing things a bit differently. The roller is coming over unpainted. Armond and his guys will be doing a little extra tlc to the body before painting it. Seats, door panels and dash are charcoal with black carpeting. Armond will also be doing all the options as well as polished aluminum on the inside hood and aluminum in the wheel wells. Dean at House of Cobras is building a 351/396 stroker with polished everything and an extra nice raspy sound....
I too, cannot say enough good things about Armond. He is as good as they come and honest to a fault. I have and will continue to recommend him to folks.
Now comes the hard part.....waiting
Enjoy your car and I look forward to cruising with you soon...!!

Your car looks great!
I saw it several times at Armond's shop. Mine is #90. The all black one that came in about the same time as yours. It should be ready very soon, I hope! I would like to echo the positive talk about Armond. He is great to deal with, even if he is so busy he can't get much done. Probably guys like me dropping in to check on their car's progress slow him down.
Let me know what if any problems you encounter. So far most Backdraft owners seem to have few if any! I hope that is true for both your car and mine.
I just can't wait to drive it, but dread the SB100 registration situation. As I tell most people, living in the Republic of California is almost like living in the United States!
I hope to see you at Cobra events. I understand the FFR club is very active in San Diego.
