In June of each year is the annual antique, custom and classic car show in downtown Pismo. I am sure you scheduled this run to co-inside with the show. But if you didn't, you might look into it.
I think the 20th show is this year. Back in 91' and 92', when I last showed my car, their was well over 500 entries. The Pismo Beach
Chamber of Commerce 1-805-773-4382. This is the promotinal agency for the car show: Joe Rivera Car Shows @ www.centralcoastcarshows.com.
Whatever you decide... do not forget to have a bowl of clam chowder at the Splash Cafe.

Father's Day in Pismo Beach is usually reserved for the "Fun In the Sun" Pismo Beach Hot Rod and Custom Car Show. The last two years the show has been restricted to about 800 entrants.

I have participated in seven of the last eight shows.

The event has had a few changes of late. The City wants to move the show to a different date to try to "spread the wealth", so to speak, between the usual crowds that come to Pismo Beach for Father's day and Cal Poly graduation, which usually fall on the same weekend as the car show.

This cruise will be the weekend after the hot rod show as rooms were very hard to come by.

Weendoggy got a hold of me the other day and indicated that he will be going for the 3 day trip. I truly feel that a 3 day trip is the only way to go for the distance from northern Calif.
Weendoggy is going to make a run down the coast this weekend to gather some information and I will be making a run as far as Pacific Grove to map out the run from Sacramento to the meeting point in the Monterey are (Sand City).

I need to know how many plan to participate and how many days for the hotel.

Bluesman, I just noticed that you were at Diablo canyon the same time I was there. I worked as a fitter/welder for Bechtel for a number of years then in Oct. of 88' while running an instrumentation crew I was made an offer from PG&E that I couldn't refuse. I even survived 2 power entries into the unit I BRT (your remember what that stands for LOL) I will never forget the beautiful blue of the reactor pool.
I remember going down Ron Butler's place back then to check out his kits, I beleave he was in Goleta? and he was one of Carrol Shelby's crew chiefs way back in the good old days. Fun memories.
JAMO, let me know if you can make it.
Randy, great to hear you and Bessie will be coming along. I will add you to the list. Can you send me your e-mail address at CobraCSX@aol.com
I will be posting more information on Monday 19th or Tuesday 20th

Hey there Brent, It has been a while, so how have you been doing. Len (Hulla Girl), Glenn (Weendoggy) and myself are putting together a central coast cruise for this summer that's open to anyone with a cobra or daytona coupe of any make so I figured to let your group here know about it. Speeking of which you should plan a vacation about the same time and join in the fun.

I will be posting a good bit of information in the next couple of days after I talk with Len & Glenn.
I made a run down from the Sacramento area as far down as Big Sur to scout for meeting points. Here are a few photos of what to expect on the cruise, and these are just to tease you a little.

To make things a little easier to keep track of could everyone that’s planning on attending this cruise send me an e-mail at CobraCSX@aol.com including the following information:

1. Your name and the name of your passenger.
2. A current e-mail address and a contact phone number.
3. What area are you coming from so I can set you up with a meeting point and time?
4. Are you coming for Friday, Saturday & Sunday or Saturday & Sunday?
5. Will you need a room at the Sea Crest Hotel and if you do will it be for Friday & Saturday evenings or Saturday evening only.
6. Will you be joining the group for dinner on Friday evening and Saturday evening? (Len needs to know this as soon as possible)

I have a pretty good list already but I need to fill in the blanks so PLEASE send all info to my e-mail address above and when I get your e-mail and have logged all your information I will e-mail you back so you know I received your information.

Thanks for helping us out with this, Don

		Don:
If this comes to pass and the weather is good plan on a lunch stop at Napenthe's a few miles south of Big Sur on the coast side of Hwy 1. Great views from the patio/restaurant up top.

After discussing the trip with other owners, I/we have decided to leave on Saturday morning from the Crossroads Center in Carmel. Hwy 1/Rio Rd. This is a good meeting spot with fuel for both the car and passengers.
The idea is to leave around 9:30am so if you're interested you can meet us for breakfast at the Black Bear Diner there around 8:00am. We'll then make sure the cars are fueled up and head south down Hwy. 1.

I will set up a website and post it here in the next week or so to allow people to view the route I have planned for the return.

If all works out, we plan to stop for awhile in Cambria. After that it'll be on to Pismo to check in the hotel and get ready to meet the other group and head to dinner in Nipomo. Remember to book your hotel early. June is a busy time in Pismo.

This is some of what the return route looks like and I have made one more change. I'll post that when it has been confirmed by me. The return will be inland of Hwy. 1. If some wish to return via Hwy. 1, Don is leading that drive back so I'm sure you won't be alone.

If you have questions, you can email me at: weendoggy@aol.com

My car won't be done in time for this event, We will probably show up (at the south end of Big Sur) in our new Boxter, just to meet some of the folks.

One thing to consider on the trip south is stopping at "the Ragged Point Inn", the last stop going south in "Big Sur".

The resturant there that is one of the top rated eating establishments in the area.

There is nothing wrong with Cambria, by the way, it also has several good places to eat and shop.

I live in Morro Bay so I don't have to make any room reservations.
