RPM,

A pilgrimage to Charlotte would be welcomed in my case. Just so everyone knows--I poo-pooed roundy round Nascar racing until a few years ago. Then I met an owner of an ex-Bill Elliot Cup Car set up for Road Racing. Then I went to Vintage racing events and learned the Cup guys actually do a road course every now and again and drive cars to go left..and right. When you hear one run in person, it reverberates into your bone structure and never leaves you.

THEN.

I looked at how these cars are built and prepped. Then I got into racing and started racing. Then I understood safety. Then I understood cost. Then I went to the Elliot compound. Then I met Gene Felton. And on and on. With schooling like that--there is only one answer. These Cup guys have lots of FUN.

Racer X 99
I was confused by your reply. We will do a 427 for those that want it. We have restored vintage Cup Cars that were driven by Fred Lorenzen and Dan Gurney. Don't forget we grew up near Riverside California where my dad and I raced. The big block is certainly not our mainstay but can be done for those that want it. You just won't make any real power compared to what I can give you in 358 for the $$. It's all personel taste. Again, we are not Cobra diehards, just real hardcore racers. We respect, worship and love the history of racing but we like modern technology to get on the track now. It is certainly more user friendly and a lot more hp/$$ efficient.

Default Toy Collector

You are the type of Club Cobra member to be modeled after. Cudos to you Toy Collector. You get it. You understand it. Though we will welcome all for a "Beauty and the Beast Brunch"we applaud the trensetters like you that have an open mind. As for one our restoration competitor, Gene Felton is a respected friend of all RPM'S inner circle. We look forward to your Cobra shining on our open house property and hopefully we put you at speed in the "Cup Car" of your dream.
