I have some nicely worn black leather ones I bought back in the early 90s during my Vette days...nothing better than worn leather gloves. I've had to have them restitched twice.
I use Simpsons for open track.
I use Mechanics for autocross for cleaning the tires.
Bought a really nice pair of tan stringbacks at the Concours Italiano at the Monterey Historics a few months ago. I'll let the Turkish One tell that story.
