WOW!
1600 lbs, Big block 427 chevy.....
Well I am confident enough in my manhood to say that I am not
sure that my BALLS are big enough to get behind the wheel of that monster.
And whoever does has every right to the bragging rights that they are going to claim.
Good job Mrbruce looks like a hell of a chassis.

I have always wanted one, looking at a picture of a Cheetah on my wall here in my office. I recently saw an original Cheetah body when I was visiting a friend in California. It was going to Bill Porterfield, owner of #1 ZL1 Camaro driven by Dick Harrell.

I second that! I'm scared just looking at it! Can't get much better in "Cool Factor" though

Just think--you don't even need a driveshaft safety loop.
Or a heater. "Keeps you toasty even on the coldest days."
They are something. My hat goes off to anyone who vintage races one. Think of taking a high-powered Cobra and chopping a few inches out of the wheelbase just for fun, and you're just about there.
BTW, photos of Mr. Bruce's other creations--Daytona Coupe replicas from scratch--are in my gallery.
Ron, are the photos of the yellow replica, pics of Neal's cat? It's looking good!

Who builds the Scarab replica? Saw Tony DeLorenzo/Augie Pabst in one at Road America in July, beautiful cars. The Beck Lister replica builder was there this summer, also. His cars are impressive.

Snakeeyes has the only Beck Lister on the forum. Maybe he can show us some pics and describe the noise of the M-22 RockCrusher 4-speed. It's not that they are naturally that noisey, Bob, I just added some pea gravel to the lubricant so it would sound more authentic.................
His Lister might qualify as the Cheetah killer. About 4.2 pounds per horsepower.

Good looking car from the side and back, but that goofy looking smile in the front I'm not too fond of.
Still not as sexy looking as the cobra. JMHO !!!

John Mac,
Is the yellow car an original or a replica? If a replica, whose?
Thanks,
TT (P.S. At the first road race I ever saw, as a high school kid, at Riverside, there were two Cheetahs, and they were both completely sideways through the turns...I don't think there was any other way to do it!)

Tom,
The car is actually Lime Green. It is built by Doug Winslow out of Cleveland, Ohio. Its dead on with the correct frame setup.
More pics at:
http://www.cheetahracecars.org/the_cheetah.html
- then go to Winslow Motorpsorts
Also check out mrbruces Cheetah pics AND the rescue pics of a REAL Cheetah from a barn!

Tom,
I know Bruce's first Cheetah (the big tire car I posted pics of) was close to being complete and now 'Werks has posted new pics of his 427 project w/ C5 suspension, but I haven't heard of one that is complete and sold. I know he has a few Daytona Coupes already sold though......he still has the Johnny Mac inspired Trans Am Coupe....yum yum.

TimG, the Scarab you saw at Road America was commissioned several years back by Lance Reventlow's half-brother. I believe the body was built by Troutman & Barnes as per the original three. It is at a very high spec, mechanically, sounds like a Nascar stocker going down the track, and is very fast as you might expect. It actually suffered a fire during the Scarab reunion weekend but it wasn't "fatal" and I'm sure the car is as new again.
Don Orosco, who currently races a Scarab F1 car and who for years owned one of the three original Scarab sports racers, also has a "replica". Cal saw it at Goodwood this past September, and there is a picture of it in my photo gallery. I believe it was built while Don still owned his original sports racer, and quite a few original spares were used, and from what I've heard is an absolute dead ringer for one of the original three. It must be, as Lord March welcomed it at the Goodwood Revival races.
There is also a company making fiberglass Scarab replicas. The most recent issue of, I think, Kit Car magazine has one on the cover. Doesn't look too bad but I'd like to see one in person.

We're kicking wheel ideas around for the car going to Oklahoma. Does anybody have a decent pic of the Corvette Grand-Sport wheels, from PS.

Snakeeyes used to be the only Lister on the forum until I got mine delivered last spring. I don't have many photos posted in my gallery but there are few. No pea gravel in my tranny however.
