Cobra Body on corvette chassis

Has anyone here installed a cobra body on shortened (90") corvette chassis ? Or can you steer me to someone who has & is willing to share what they had to do ?

Cobras N Vettes manufactures a body/kit for the 1968 through 1982 or C3 Corvette. The Third generation Corvette is a 98 inch wheelbase and we are working on the C4 Vette now. We also have adapter mounts to allow a Small block Ford engine to be installed in addition to the small or big block GM engines. Please see our web or send us an email with additional questions.

Lou - Hunter Kit Cars in Ocala, about 2 hours from Sarasota, builds a 427 Cobra on a 90 or 96 inch frame with Corvette front and rear suspension. I've seen his cars with Ford or Chevy engines. Elegant Motors built C3 framed Cobras as I have one but they are no longer in business. Elegant Motors then became Indy Exotics but in about 92 they also stopped making Cobras from Corvettes. Randy Hunter is in your back yard and as Bumpster said will build you any thing you want. He had a guy who wanted a Mopar V10 engine in a Cobra and he did this for him. The Vette chassis is very heavy and the floor will require a fgrp tub to fit the chassis, again adding weight.
Just stuff a Chevy in any of the many available roadsters out there, it's kinda nostalgic, since quiet a few of the originals received 327's/350's since the era speed parts allowed that sb to hang with the COBRA 428/427 street cars.
As their value rose the Chevy powerplants were quietly replaced with "original" engines.

The finished weight of a Cobray with a big block is 2486 LBS and includes the floorpan molded to the body as a one piece body so no additional fab or weight issues. This also gives you the largest cockpit of any known manufacturer and golf club bag fits in the trunk on top of all that!

The term fgrp is "fiberglass reinforced plastic", sorry for the abbreviation.
The gain in the tub in this material is a quieter ride in most cases.

I'm just an old purist at heart when it comes to the COBRA, so I'll bow out, that noted. By the way, golf clubs will fit in the old roadster, no problem.

Thanks for the info and no need to blow out of thread, I respect the purist in you and have not nor would not argue with your point of view. My Cobray is not for the purist as we build the car to stand on its own. It clearly has Cobra influences ( how can you not love the bodylines and mystique of the Cobra ) while obvious to even the most casual Cobra fan it is very different. The Corvette chassis with the advantage of some 30 + years of improvements is a natural choice for donor selection. The GM or Chevy engine is a plug and play as is the Ford enine with our adapter mounts. I would be the first to admit Cobray is a poor replica attempt if judged by replica standards but fares very well as a quality built hotrod. It offers everything a replica delivers and more and has been designed not to attempt or imply authenticity.

The better thing to do would be to install a 63-67 corvette body on a 68-82 chassis , at least that way there is an upside and the car would drive better. ....IMHO.

I miss my 67 Sting Ray . ...but not that much.

I have a 1980 with L82 that I was going to convert to a roadster, removed roof, replaced rear deck/deck lid etc. I lifted body off frame to go through frame (refinish/bushings/brake lines and so on) as car sat for 20 plus years, anyway long story short it is better for me to start with a blank slate with regard to the body (Vette int and wiring are trashed) and the Cobra style is The Roadster
