Default Do you have????????

I am wondering how many of you have dimming instrumentation lighting.

I am talking about a knob you can turn to make the illumination of your instrumentation dimmer or brighter.

If you do not have it, would you be interested in it?

I was also wondering if you have interior lights that come on when the door(s) are open?

Thanks!

I do not have dimming gauge lights as I haven't found a need to dim the gauge lamps. If I did I'd just build up an astable multivibrator with variable duty cycle, run the output into a high power mosfet and control the brightness that way.

My car has instrument dimmer lighting and I do use it frequently on unlit roads. I didn't engineer it that way, the headlight switch just did it. I never gave it much thought til now though. My interior is illuminated by Lunarvision upon opening a door. Never gave courtesy lamps much thought til now either, though I wouldn't bother. Maybe if my car had a top I would reconsider. But then if my car had a top I would reconsider owning it.

I kind of figured there wasn't much need for it, but it is nice to have.

Like maxrpm said, "I never gave it much thought."

Check ERA. I think they supply a fluted knob for the instrument lights.

Yup, the dash lights dim and I do change the settings from time to time.

Yup, we put them in our cars. We install Haywire. They use a GM style.
