I don't fly for food, just for enjoyment. Here I am in my 1949 Piper/Stinson 108-3 at altitude northwest of Tucson.

Default TC, yellowbird

TC, If I'm not mistaken, the Yellowbird was sold at BJackson this year. Not sure what it pulled but they had a video showing the top speed runs with the car and it was downright nutty. It was like a low flying missile---someone had some screws loose and his nutz in a bag during that run..insane. Whatcha doin' moderating? Don't you have a KMP to finish

Sizzler,
You can see the manifold/carb setup by clicking on:
http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/s...cat=500&page=4

The manifold is a 2X4 high-rise tunnel port setup. Carburetors are two square-bore 780 CFM 3310 Holleys with vacuum secondaries. Engine idles and runs through all ranges smoothly, with smooth application of power as the secondaries open. With 570 HP, this improves driveability, especially when accelerating out of a corner. Thre's a lot less tendency to suddenly see where you've been with gradual opening of the secondaries. One down side: Mileage is not the greatest at about 9 mpg when soft peddaling it.

Speed220,

I like your choice of cold weather Cobra alternatives. Here's mine:

Thanks. I believe what you have is a Tunnel Wedge (for Tunnel Port heads), not a Tunnel Ram (confusing). I'm working on a Tunnel Ram and was looking for some info on those, Dove or others. A little worried about drivability. Thanks again.

Sizzler:
You're correct. The manifold is for tunnel port heads only.

Clay:
Nice Mustang.

An El Camino convertible? What's GM planning next, a GTO without scoops?

Tom and Jon,

Sorry, was *****-whipped this weeked for once. Life is good.

Tom, I will likely end up with a real stick and rudder plane as you have when all is said and done. I need a real bush plane. Thinking C180 or Maule, or what I really want is a Helio. Tom, My ass once puckered big time leaving Flagstaff. Calculations were spot on, but I never flew a plane with wings huffing and puffing like that for some time.

Jon, you are correct. My wife has given me (probably by design) 12 minutes to do work on my car this weekend after I am done checking the site. No hardship yet, she knows my race schedule.
