Default Six Speed Transmission?????

Hey guys,

Is there anybody out there running a six speed transmission? This may be a question that only a college student would ask but I haven't picked up my cobra yet and I don't know what kind of room there is. From what I understand you can get a bell housing that will allow you to run a t56 from a camaro or vette to a ford motor. Any replies would be great even if it is to further inform me of my ignorance. Thanks!

Better pick out the car first. There are some cars that run the T56, but it takes a butcher job to get them in. So can it be done, yes. Practical, probably not in some cars. As for the bellhousing, that is no problem. It is due to the trans length and rear mounting that causes problems. Drive shaft ends up being about 2 inches long.
