Serious Speed Issues
Been a while now. Thought it was my T1 line at work, but having the same issues with CC on the home cable with Comcast....
Dad Burn It.. all pages (esp Pictures) just seem extremely slow to load. Is it just my two specific locations, am I having the early symptoms of diabetes, or is CC simply slowing down?

Yes it appears to be slowing down a little, sort of like the Freeway when there's a Football game in town. Brent may need to attach a jack shaft from his 427 to the the servers, and run it WIDE OPEN. They are getting overloaded. Too many "Chevy Browsers" looking for good ideas.
That ought to help traffic???

Actually what is happening is a phenomenon going on across the country and something I predicted nearly 10 years ago ... people are starting to read faster!
That's right! The Internet isn't any slower or faster than it has been since 1992 ... it's just that people are reading more and more and a natural out growth of all of that reading is that people are reading faster!
If a picture is downloaded it seems like it takes forever because you have nothing to read while the download occurs.
(Actually I think it has to do with the popularity of the forum. Many users = slower speed.)
Zderf:
I've noticed some slowing while at work but I attribute that to the servers and firewalls. I also have comcast at home and find it to be as fast if not a little more so than ever.
Some of it may have to do with how many subscribers are on the leg that services your home system. The more there are the slower it will be becuase they have to share a fixed band width.
There are a couple of minor settings that can be made on your system that may relieve the problem at home slightly. Do a web search for increasing internet speed. You'll have to wade through the junk but there are some recommendations out the that will help a little.
Also call Comcast and tell them you're slow, they may have some suggestions.
