What a dip. Sorry you had to put up with that. It really was painful to just read. I can't imagine being in your shoes.

The closest I ever came to that was trying to explain what a Cobra was to the DMV lady when I wanted a license plate. Here in AZ, cost of plates is based on original prices, devalued over the years. She couldn't find an original price in her book, so I guessed and told her about $7000 and since that seemed a lot for a car in '66, we came to an agreement that I could have my plates for $32 for two years or something.

BTW, I suspect no one really cares - since you're all brand-X folks, but the LT1 wasn't available in the Vette until late '70 (Ithink). Solid roller cam 11:1 350, making 365HP. The other option is the ZL1 which was available in '69, but he couldn't have owned one unless he was corporate GM personnel (a COPO option only). I think there was only a few (maybe 2) ZL1 vettes, but 51 or 52 ZL1 camaros.

ItBites, I think two of the 'vettes is the common agreed on number. Much, much horsepower. But since this yokel thinks GMC makes the Corvette Cobra who knows what he really meant.

Last cruise we had a guy pulled up beside me in a big GMC SUV - lowered his tinted window - and yelled out - is that one of the NEW Corvettes.
