What a dip. Sorry you had to put up with that. It really was painful to just read. I can't imagine being in your shoes.
The closest I ever came to that was trying to explain what a Cobra was to the DMV lady when I wanted a license plate. Here in AZ, cost of plates is based on original prices, devalued over the years. She couldn't find an original price in her book, so I guessed and told her about $7000 and since that seemed a lot for a car in '66, we came to an agreement that I could have my plates for $32 for two years or something.
BTW, I suspect no one really cares - since you're all brand-X folks, but the LT1 wasn't available in the Vette until late '70 (Ithink). Solid roller cam 11:1 350, making 365HP. The other option is the ZL1 which was available in '69, but he couldn't have owned one unless he was corporate GM personnel (a COPO option only). I think there was only a few (maybe 2) ZL1 vettes, but 51 or 52 ZL1 camaros.
