I could probably get it for you but would have to go look on the wall in the paint mixing room of the shop that I used to work for......when I found the cross reference code I just simiply wrote it on the wall in the paint mixing room for future reference, but that was 10 years ago.........I found the original paint codes for Wimbelton White and Rangoon Red to paint my 65 fastback GT-350 clone with...........formulas were not avaliable for the old codes, but using a cross reference book you can get them..............If memory serves me right, the red crossed over to an early 90s Toyota color, don't remember what the white crossed over to, that was 10 years ago..............

Check with your local body shops and give them the original factory code for the paint and see if it will cross reference to a "modern" code that they have the formula for......................

I think it is 9A. But encourage you to verify this.

Thanks Rick, what I really need is the paint mix info. For some reason wimbledon white is not in the paint books we have. The ppg number is 8378. Is that what a painter would need to get the color?

That should give them a very good start. That is the Old Ford Paint color ID.

I have the actual paint mixing codes for Laquer on some cans out in the garage. What brand paint are you going to use? Wimbleton White was used throughout the early 60s-70's then it was changed to a brighter white and renamed. The mixing codes are different for each brand. Find a paint store that has "Old Books and color charts, chips etc".

Yes Dean each mix code is different, but the base # will get you "in the neighborhood". I am definately not a painter.

Default PPG Codes

The PPG # is all your painter needs. For another confirmation, see:

The FORD PAINT CODE IS 9A. ANY paint shop/supplier - be it Dupont, PPG, Siemens, Matrix, Glasurit etc, can and will use the original Ford code 9A to match the paint. Now if you don't want the Ford paint match then you do not want the "Wimbelton" color, which by the way is not a pure white by any means, it has more of a yellow cast to it when compared to pure white.
One more note, if you or anyone else is looking for a pure white then you MUST tell the painter mixer this. He will simply mix "white" with NO tints.
Just thought you might like to know.
