I had this in my notes: - You may want to consider trying this ASAP.
"Get your Dr. to write you a prescription for Silver Sulfadiazine Cream USP 1%. Use it religiously every day. It works miracles and will fade it to nothing over about 6 months."

Keep an Aloe plant in your house at all times for any major or minor burns. Helps even after a day or two, after the fact. Been with Fire/EMS for 20 yrs and it's the most amazing remedy I've ever seen.

I attest to the Silver Sulfadiazine Cream USP 1%. First hand experience, it does work.

heat shields work, mine are from finish line, I would hate to know that one of my grandkids or a niece or nephew got burnt on my car, also I keep a bottle of Aloe Vera gel in my glove box, just in case someone gets to close to the pipes coming out of the fender

I plan on ordering soon, and have heat shields as part of the build/bid sheet. But I've heard that no matter what you do - they rattle. True/false? And yes - I have kids - and I'd rather slice off virtually any of my own appendages - than to burn them like that. So - I'm probably going to have to get the heat sheilds - but do they rattle?

Get the shields - I bought the bare steel variety from Finishline and had them painted black to match the pipes. They don't rattle at all and they give me peace of mind.

Mine are great! Factory installed by Backdraft. No rattles or vibration noises at all. Just went through a long process of changing slip on pipes to flanged. Even after all the beating and banging, welding and grinding, still no rattles.
I have an almost 3 yr old girl, and she knows not to touch the pipes hot or cold but accidents do happen. I'll keep them on there for everyone's safety!

as a pediatrician who cars for burns all the time, you need to get that girl to a physician immediately. A delay in proper care and debridement can result in permanent scarring.

Cobra Bite prevention
This look very painful & hopefully won't scar too bad, lucky was a relative, imagin the lawsuit if not. I know a lady who got out of the passenger side & got thier leg stuck on the pipe & had to be pulled off, ruined her calf. There is a new exhaust cover available at www.copperstarproducts.com that folds out & covers the pipe to keep this from happening. It folds into the car so there is nothing showing when driving & no rattles & no braces or brackets to add.

Anyone have pics of pipe covers?
My 5yr old got burned and I am looking for ideas on shields attached to the pipes. Anyone have pictures of decent looking ones and recommendations on where to get them? Looked on Finishline but did not see any?

I used the fold out shields on mine for a while and they worked great just as it says in a post on page one. I got them after I told a guy to not touch the pipe when he got out and he put his right hand down on it to push himself up out of the seat. That pipe still has the lines from the palm of his hand in it 9 years later and I have tried everything to get it out and was told the only way was to get a new pipe. I sold the Cobra and the Daytona Coupe I have has the side pipes sunk back into an aluminum well where they are hard to touch getting in and out of the car.

Thanks, the foldout sheets just look bulky but appear effective.

I got burned on Daryl Holidays exhaust in 95. Later when I bought a car I installed the perforated SS sheilds from Finishline. They now look appropriate and work just fine. The average pedestrian just doesn't understand don't touch the pipes.
