Be a little more specific and we can help...

Are you asking where to look for s/n stampings, etc?
What is it you are trying to I.D.?

Not much to "decode". All there is, is a VIN plate in the footbox. The VIN will tell us what car it is (example- CSX3302). From there, we can check the registry and tell you all the known info on the car. Motor wise it would be either a 427 or 428, which could be told from what VIN the car is, and the trans would be a 4 speed toploader.

Also, pictures would help as well. Especially for us to see if it's an actual Cobra or just something else registered as a 67 like 99% of the cars people think are originals.

Default EZ way to tell for starters

Check if the body is aluminium or fiberglass.

As stated above, post the VIN when you find out what it is, also post any other numbers you find. Casting numbers of the engine block, heads, intake manifold. Check the VIN as found on the title and older registration and again post them here. Pictures of the body, engine compartment, trunk, and if possible front and rear suspension and frame rails will go a long way toward true identification. PICTURES ARE IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
