I saw that crash. It was nearly a head-on impact. The only thing left was the tub with the driver in it - but it was perfectly intact. Unbelievable.

The Sauber got its front wing under the rear wheel of the Toyota which pushed the front wheels up and from then on, Kubica was a passenger. He hit the wall at 145mph. Suffering a 75g deceleration meant he failed the reaction test in his medical. The fact he's alive is a minor miracle..!

Formula 1 has many positive factors and a few negative ones, in my opinion.

Positive points:
You know when the race is going to be run, rain or shine.
Generally no, or very few, cautions. Canada this year was an exception.
If the safety car comes out, it is moving at an unbelievable speed and only stays out long enough for the problem to be cleared away.
Local yellow flags allow the race to continue on 90% of the circuit.
Very strict rules that are not bent. In Canada 2 cars exited the pits during a caution and both were black flagged. No NASCAR BS here.
Really high tech cars, really fast cars, the best drivers in the world.
19,000 rpm, what has to be said about that?
A very international atmosphere.

Negative points:
Very expensive, very elite.
Not enough passing, circuits are extremely narrow.
Difficult to follow as are most road circuits, especially during pit stops.
It is getting difficult to tell some of the teams apart as some of the paint jobs are very similar.

Over all, the best cars and drivers on the planet. Oh, did I mention that there aren't 16 sfaety car appearances every race?
