Default AC Bristol - Bill Love, race car driver, 1950's

I am new to this site. As I was doing research on the internet for a race car driver in the 1950's by the name of Bill Love, who drove an AC Bristol, this site came up. There was an entry by a bbrown, who spoke of Bill Love driving his AC Bristol in a race. Just wondering if anyone has information, memories, articles, anything that pertains to this subject.

Thank you for your consideration of my request!

Hi,

I'm not exactly sure in what context I spoke of Bill, but I am an old Cal Club guy that grew up in the Pasadena area and did a little SCCA racing. I am guessing from your screen name that you may be related.

You can find pictures of Bill and information in books such as California Screamin (The Glory Days of Corvette Road Racing), and newspapers such as MotorRacing (available on CD).

There is another source called Ace Bristol Racing, available only in England. It has Bill listed as racing Ace Bristol BEX258 with a 100D engine.

Please PM me if you want more info. Hope this helps.

Default Ac ace

Hi Bert.

I am picking up on a message og yours from 2007! I have recently bought Bill Loves AC Ace with wich he was so successful in 1957/8. Do you know where he is, or know of someone who does? I would very much like to get in touch with him.

Best Regards
Ashley

Hi Ashley,
Bill Love is no longer with us, but I remember speaking with his daughter some years ago. While I never knew Bill, you may want to get in touch with Frank Monise in Southern California. He attended all the Cal Club races during the '50s and '60s with his dad, Frank Sr. and I'm sure he will remember some details about Bill. send me an email at waltbrown@gmail.com and I'll give you Frank's info.
Regards
Bert
