Default Toggle switches

I am in the process of putting my CR Cobra back together. My dash is padded. Most toggle switches install through the back with a serrated nut on the front. Is there any toggle switches made that the toggle part slides through the front and the nut attaches from the inside of the dash? I know there are some that has all of the electrical works in the front but I do not want a big rectangle block on the outside of the dash & I do not want to run a toggle panel just toggle switches through the dash. I want it to look like it slides in from the front like the instrument lights do. I don't know if there is any thing out there like that. I think that it would make for a cleaner looking installation.

Thanks in advance

Terry

Terry,

I have never seen any listed like you want, but I know a person that once took his and I think he used some small plastic foot holders like you get to put the feet of tables on. He first took the back part of the switch and groved the edges of the plastic, then cut out the centers of the plastic foot holders to make rings out of them. He had to leave plenty of slack as the ring has to go on before the wires, but once he got it on the could tighten them up from behind and just the switch was in front. But without the serrated nut on the front it didn't look right so he put it on to cover the threads and just finger tightened it. I personally like the use of the serrated nut with a small washers better.

Ron,

I have never seen them either. At least not in a toggle. I was just wondering if there was anything out there. I know that I can get a push button switch but the hole in the dash has to be quite larger and as my dash is already upolstered I do not want to try and make the holes larger. Maybe I will have to put front loading lights in the existing holes and make a somewhat hidden toggle of rocker switch plate.

Thanks for the reply

Terry

Terry,

The dash in my Coupe is padded and the person that I bought it from has all the toggle and other switches mounted in a stainless plate that goes from the bottom of the dash to the top of the transmission tunnel. Looks really good I think. He also had all the gages tilted toward the driver so they are easy to read.
