It weighs 45 lbs.

In racing motorcycles we are using carbon fiber extensively. It has become the new standard. Really the new wave!

Wow, What a sweet looking Cobra! Does Roger have a web site? There are a few parts that I need for my Cobra. The carbon fiber should hold up a whole lot better than Fiberglass. Is the frame round or square tube?

Morgan, the frame is round tube as per the original except wall thickness. He's working on a website.

An amazing work of art for sure, I have seen pics before on the csx.info site. Roger builds a great car, accurate and priced awesome. I would buy one in a heartbeat if I was looking for another Cobra. Honestly, I could not even see a reason to buy any other brand of Cobra against the price and quality of Roger's cars.

Looks like a Kirkham with a different skin.

double ugly 07-12-2007 10:29 AM

And you get the original suspension included in the price not billet alum.

That looks like a great Cobra package. Once you have a carbon body there is no going back. Mine is one of 10 that Factory Five built in 1997. It was a $3 grand option at the time. It's very thin, very strong and it weighs 51 lbs. I painted mine single stage black so it would show any flaws I left during the prep work. They are few and hard to find. I used as little primer as possible to keep the weight down. It has some print thru on the hood, deck lid and doors but so do the kazillion $ sailboats I've raced on.

I'll join the pile-on as well and say that is a outstanding looking car especially at the 35K price. So, why has this guy been kept a secret?

Come to Phoenix this Fall and look it over. The car will be ready in late August or early Sep. The car should be here the end of July and the side oiler soon after.

Wow...great looking car! With that quality, accuracy, completeness, and price, it looks like Kirkham may have some competition on their hands. It certainly has grabbed my attention!

Buzz 07-15-2007 08:53 AM

Very interesting - I'd like to see more on this manufacturer. Any more pics?

double ugly 07-15-2007 09:18 AM

From what I've seen so far, I am very impressed with this car. Thanks for posting those pics John. Maybe I can get up there and see it this fall.

Is this truly carbon fiber cured in an autoclave?

Or just carbon fiber "fiberglass"?

double ugly 07-15-2007 02:40 PM

It's truly carbon fiber with applicable resin but doesn't need to be baked. Some applications need to be vacuum formed and autoclaved.
