I recorded the start up and as soon as I figure out how to put it on line I'll do that.

Cool!
100 pounds sounds like a lot of oil pressure to me, especially if that's at/near idle. Although, it will drop some as the engine warms up. Also depends on oil used. As for the pressure at the cooler, I'd say the cooler could sustain over 200 pounds w/o spliting. Larry |
I have the video on a DVDR but the Hitachi software that came with the camera won't support it. Needs DVD RAM to work with their software. Any suggestions?

The car moved under it's own power. :) The clutch needs some adjusting and the float levels need to be lowered slightly. It flooded when trying to start up when hot.

Cool John!! There are always those first-time-drive problems to work out but hey... IT MOVES!!!

John,
Your car is very impressive. I forwarded a couple of shots on to Brad, talked to him this afternoon as he is milling down an arumminum flywheel for me. He gave me an extensive, and convincing, bit of reasoning as to why he builds in the 100 psi OP. If you want I can forward the info on to you. I guess you learn a few things after thirty years of building. He told me with Valvoline 10-40, warm oil, 70 psi at idle and 100 psi at rpms over 2200. I must say even at those high pressures, no leaks here. Again you have a beautiful Cobra there.:MECOOL: |
I'd only give it one, there's a lot more frame clearance on the arse end.
|
I'm told there should be an inch gap between the top of the tire and the wheel well opening. That's where the two inches came from.
