I use Amsoil in everything I own, from my turbo-diesel, the Escalade, the '67 Camaro, the Daytona Coupe, and my ATV's. It really keeps the engines well-lubricated and in top-shape. I wouldn't use anything else.

our local auto parts store carries it, but you can go to their website and find a dealer or become a dealer and get the discounts.

I will set up an account and have it mailed to my house. I'm working though my local rep at www.lubedealer.com/jleach.

Yours is an obvious question about companies using synthetic as initial fill. Check out this link for discussion from those in the business. (Hint: there's no problem with using it)

I have 3 cars and any one of them might only be driven once or twice a month. Not all oils cling to surfaces the same. As best I have been able to determine, ester oils will cling to engine parts like a magnet. So, even if the engine has been sitting for a while, at startup there is still lubricant there. Redline oil is an ester oil.

Oil
I dont know much about oil, but it is very important to me to know I have the best oil for my application, and I dont care about how much a qt costs!
Amsoil obviously is a top oil as they arent scared to have it tested against other oils.
Schaeffer Oil which I have only just read about appears to be top oil as well, they supply to racing, road and earthmoving etc etc, their race oils are highly recommended and I think they are okay like Motul to do 3000-5000 oil changes.
It all depends on how much fuel etc gets in your oil when racing, and what grade viscosity you are running.
I personally think any of the above and there is another highly rated oil called Penrite, and they supply all the data on zinc levels etc, and that oil is highly rated over in Australia where they have a hot climate and this oil is good for road and race!
Then there are all the other oils like Shell, Mobil, etc etc I think they are all good as long as you put the right product in for your application and change it regularly. I have a Ford Laser work car done 420,000kms, engine never been touched, change oil every 10000km with Morris Servol 15w40, I guess not many of you would have heard about Morris oil, but they are probably one of the biggest suppliers of base oil to the oil companies and also have world class sin oils etc! and on it goes............! as you can see I still havent made my mind up on what to use in the cobra after its done some miles!
