BIG Prices for Original Cars at RM Auction
This may be old news, but two gorgeous, original Cobras were sold at the RM Auction in AZ (not sure of the actual date). A pristine, silver slabside 289 went for $500K, while a superb 427 SC hit $1.3 mil, both plus buyer's premium.
A question, what do you tell the taxman when you sell one of those cars?, in the $500k range you got to be at 35%. Not to even factor in the personal property tax paid over the years.

CSX3045 was the original car for the Contemporary mold, wasn't it?
It seems by ASnakes post that the uber-prices are shaking a lot of cars loose. I hope they wind up with an owner who will drive them and not in a crate in Belgium!

Whoever buys them, I doubt that they'll be driven (at least on the street) the way we drove our Cobras back in the 70s. There's a lot to be said for being young, feeling indestructible, and having a double dose of testosterone. In addition, not having to worry about losing a six or seven figure investment helped.
