You ever try to drift your Cobra? I mean in real life
I attended many Drift Sessions here in Hawaii with my Excalibur. One such event was written up in an article for a Japanese magazine, with a picture of my Excalibur 'sideways'. Very very tough to hang out the rear end of a short wheel base car and KEEP it there in a controlled manner. I learned a TON about 'Cobra control' from drifting it.
Sometime later when on the same road course I had 'drifted' before, I lost my brakes coming into a hairpen corner. I slammed the trans into 2nd and 'locked up' the rear end throwing the car sideways on purpose to scrub off speed (had to do SOMETHING!). Essentially I wound up drifting the corner and that was way better than hitting the tire wall. Knowing and practicing Drifting techniques saved me from an all but certain crash.
Doing a little 'agriculture' work in the corner...
