madmaxx - Like all engine builders, Roush isn't perfect. I've worked (and am still working) through a couple of warranty issues and they've stood by their product so far. I would highly recommend Roush, but people should look at all of their options.

Got the bug you are correct, when PE installed and first drove mine Erik indicated it stumbled, he worked with Roush and they sent a new carburator. Erik installed the car no more issues. So from the time I got the car it has been perfect, (the way it should be) Major credit to erik at PE for identifying the problem and taking the time to inform me and correct instead of ship the car and we will deal with it later. I was going to install the engine and trans myself but when I read Roush warranty they require a certified installer, which I am not so I am very glad I decided to let PE do the work and therefore roush had no wiggle room. I always wonder how they would have treated me if I would have called direct after I installed. story may have been different. I will say this it is the best running engine i have ever owned as far as power and torque, I could put a glass of water on the air cleaner and rev to 4000 rpm and you will not see a ripple, incredible balance job.

Bill Bess Bill you can't compare a cobra motor to a boat motor. These people who have a ton on money and no common sense about anything. Running BBC motor at 6,500 rpm all day is no problem if built with the correct parts. If these people had any smarts they would be running diesel motors and turn 2,800-3,500 all day and saving fuel. 632 motors with 8 or 10-71 blowers on them if setup right will run a whole season without a failure. The right bearings, PEROILERS and good machinist will get you in the ball park. A/F meters on each bank of the motors will also tell any possible problem before it happens. A cobra wieght is about 2,800 lbs with fluids. A 38 Donza is 10-14,000 pounds and a ton of drag from the water. I know about the poker runs they have on Lake H. Some of the boats are in the 150 mph speeds. If you are going to go this fast, turbines are faster, lighter and in the long run cheaper. There are some engine builder that build endurance motors and give up 20 HP and not run on the ragged limits. These motor ran twice as long as "race motors" There are some FE motors being built that don't leak, make 600+ HP, are 500+ cubic inches and have a 7,000 rpm limit. You have to build a motor with what purpose it will be used for. FE have come along way in the last 7 years and the future is alot brighter with the new Cammer kits coming out. JMO Rick Lake Ps those boat parties are better than any Playboy party.

Hey Guys, I have one of SA motors, it A Shelby FE stroked to 484, it had 800 miles on the motor when I bought the car last year. Ive put about 8000 miles on it. I did have 1 problem, I blew a head gasket. I saw it was leaking a little oil between the head an block, if I had of retorqued the head then it probaly would not have blew but I didnt. My fault not SA,s.Its a great engine, will hit the rev limiter before a cat can lick his ass. Very satisfied with SA'S motor. If I need something I will call Bill first. The motor is in a SPF, its beautiful. Rangoon Red with white stripes

Rick, Point taken!

Money does help and the build purpose is a determing factor, but my only point is all motors will or can have problems, no matter who builds them and how much you spend. More money, the more power it will make, but if poor workmanship is in the mix problems will occur.

Hey, this weekend at Lake Havasu is pretty crazy...lots of everything down at the bridgewater channel. Fast boats, fast women and a lot of drinking. Too many cops!

Bill Bess Bill be carefull. Fast women are no fun. Loose and dangerous. Boats are great just don't run over a sandbar and go through the windshield, That happen at a picnic 12 years ago in Barnaget Bay, Scarab 38' went 120ft on a sand bar 2' deep, killed the girl in the pass seat she went through the windshield, cut her throat. The kid ripped both out drives out of the stern. Seatow ran 500' of cable and ripped the boat off the barge. Cost $2,000.00. Drinking, I am getting too old, have only 3 brain cells left and need them all. Have a good time, be carefull and don't tick off the cops. Rick L.

Rick, Good advice..I'm also too old and tired to hang with all those crazies. I don't go out on the lake on big weekends, just go down to check out the "happenings",....maybe drive the Cobra down to the river and impress myself with how old I'm getting.
