NASCAR, NHRA, all the racing has become all about the almighty dollar...back in the '60s you could put your "rod" together in the backyard or garage if you were lucky enough to have one and drive(that's rite drive) it to the local strip and have a ball all day long. Maybe spend $50-75 on it for what ever you broke to get ready for next Sunday. It was normally your only means of transportation so you had to fix it to get to school or job. Today you can spend 100 large and not be competive.
Maybe that is why we have the cars we have now...COBRA's..greatest icon of the 1960's. Drive em...fix em..and drive em some more...My wife doesn't understand why too much is still not enough.
