Im sure Shelbys given his blessing to adding Kirkham to the registry, and at the end of the day, thats what counts.
Thats the reason they are in the registry, the SAAC boys wanted to piss CS off since he will have his own registry. I am sure the new supplier for the alum bodies will be in it too.

Allan you got some new information on who is destined to become this 'new supplier' for alloy bodies to Shelby? It seems Amy is weighing her options.

Thanks Bill: But I'll pass on your "great advice" Another sour grapes suggestion from the "real racer" crew but thanks, I'm perfecty happy with my Shelby and its appreciation in value over the past 6 years. I have no plans to sell anytime in the near future. Moreover, I don't need to sell the Shelby to pick up a FFR spec racer. Besides right now I'm too busy enjoying the new Ford GT.

As to the SAAC registry and the "prestige of it all" it seems that all the Kirkham owners exicted about the prospect of their car being included in the Registry do think there is a plus to it.

When the new registry hits let us know what cars you have registered will ya? Maybe if you save your pennies you can make the next registry in 10 years.

Evan,

I'll cut the snide and quite snobbish part of your response out for clarity, but since you did ask a valid question within it I'll respond as follows. You'll find me attached to at least three or four very real Shelbys, maybe more if you look hard enough. As for your new purchase, I'm envious, no really, I am.

Next you'll be saying that bastardized lump is a REAL GT40...never, I repeat, NEVER compare the gorgeous lines of a true GT40 (original or replica) to that POS Ford GT. Sixteen year olds may be impressed by a Ford GT, but I think they are an insult to the GT40.

Evan, I know this might be somewhat shocking to you and your fellow travelers, but Kirkham owners simply are not affected by angst.

Black lung disease from arruminum powder maybe, but not angst.

Greg:

Some people seem to think that putting a car (i.e. a class or series of car)
in the registry grants it some sort of legitimacy. That's a perception on
their part. All we are trying to do is provide as complete a picture of
these cars as we can. We want to define "what is" as well as "what isn't."

We realize that when a car is "in the registry" it means something to the
owners of those cars but that is an unintended consequence. It's a pleasant
coincidence for them but it is not our goal.

Rick

I like his explanation when he said that some people seem to think that as soon as it is included it is somhow legit.

Only my HO, go ahead folks, open fire.

we Kirkham owners have known the reason for the inclusion from the beginning, none of us harbor any feelings that now our cars are legitimate original cars or Shelbys ( apparently RK feels that way about any car that is not an original) , in fact we are getting a good laugh at the agonizing over this issue by many of you. I now will have two cars in the registry, my SPF Shelby Daytona and my Kirkham. One is a recognized Shelby product much like the CSX 4000 cars. What does it mean to me? didly sh..t

Lightbulb Now I think I know why!

They thought the outfits could fool us. Very clever!

Look closely, isn't that Utah in the background?

Of course you've got to let them in!

Johan,

Yup, same pretty much canned response I got as well. It's a "corporate" decision, nothing more, nothing less.

Whats Kopec know anyhow?

I've got an original ERA and it is in the original ERA registry. Which will allow us to maintain the pedigree of the outstanding cars from New Britain, Ct.

Thankfully Evan sold his ERA so we don't have to deal with him. Youse guys in SAAC can have him.

So is New Britain like a Continuation England? Maybe ERAs have more validity to originals than new CSXs do!

I hope no one mistakes my Kirkham for a Shelby. How embarrassing would that be?
