Good question. At this rate I'll be a grandparent before we see the new registry and my oldest is 15.

Evan,
Guess you'll just have to wait like the rest of us. Try not to let your anger and frustration show in such a public manner next time when someone does not play by your rules.

Anger? Frustration? Nice try.
Ok, we'll be waiting with baited breath to see what Shelbys your "attached" to when the Registry comes out. If it ever does.

Evan,
I think you'll need to get both volumes of the new registry to get the maximum impact of Bill's attachment. But I suspect you are only going to purchase the first one.

Jim,
Now we can be mysterious together!
Egotistical? Maybe, but at least no inferiority complex.

Jim,
By your actions, are you, as an owner of an original CSX3000 Cobra, distancing yourself from all egotistical CSX4000 owners?????

Wait another minute! This listing of the number of posts is really egotistical, and I see that A-Snake is 55 posts ahead of me, and that Real-1 is 1544 posts ahead (or is that "behind"?). Are you guys retired or something? I know A-Snake is director of disbursements or something like that, but maybe that isn't a full time job.

This desperation to be as close as possible to an original is really pathetic. Does your life revolve around a damned two seater? Does this car make you more of a human than others?
Evan does all this bragging of your CSX make you prettier, smarter, or better than anyone else? I think not. You need to just enjoy the car, and be glad you can afford what you have. Get a life, it is not sour grapes that keep people on you. It is your continual whining that gets under people's skin.
Sounds to me like you have a very nice life. Why don't you learn to appreciate what you have, and not whine about what you don't have? Maybe just sell the house, and buy an original, and then you can thumb your nose at everyone. That would surely make you a better person , or just learn to like yourself. Life is nothing but choices.

Emotionally torturing Evan has become a sport on Club Cobra. Because he has a masochistic ego he keeps coming back for more. Eventually we all get bored and the topic and Evan go away for a while.
I think they should add Lonestar to the registry right next to the 4000's just to make him squirm.

Wow, I take a week or so to move to FL, and come back to a good 12 pager!
There's so many posts here that I would reply to, but I'm not going to because they are the same back and forth debates that always take place.
Everyone has their own stance on branding, SAAC, and the registry, and no amount of counter debating will ever change anyone's view.
So I'll just chime in saying that I have a CSX and I love it and love driving it, and that's what matters most. If it's in the registry, that's cool. If it's not, I'll still love driving it just the same.

Typical CC double standard.
This all started with a typical and snide & sarcastic remark from our own self appointed expert "MrMustang". Oh yes!. I'll be waiting with baited breath for the new registry to see MrMustang's pervasive Shelby attachments Actually I couldn't give a rats behind.
All I have said is what SAAC says. If thats bragging, if thats saying the Continuation series is "better" oh well.
Imagine2frolic: I'm not bragging nor saying the Continuation series is anything other then what SAAC says. So its amazing to me that when the sour grapes crowd knocks the car my reponses are taken as bragging but no one has an issue with putting the CSX cars down. If they don't like my whining they can "Kiss my arse".
....and If you guys want to be so "mysterious" remove all your little Cobra emblems annoiting you with that "special original owner status". Owners of originals are "special", we understand and owners of Continuatoins series are all egotistical if they dare to cite to their Cobra as REAL, genuine or the like. Hey, its right their on the SAAC home page guys. That all I'm saying. "Nothing more nothing less" (someone likes that annoying phrase). As usual, the nonsense and CC double standard is alive and well.
Xlor8(whatever): Emotionally tourtured by these guys? Nah. Sorry to disapoint, but hey, if they put Lone stars in the registry the original owners who are right in there with the Continuaiton Series may start squirming too!
Enjoy.

Hey Bill, thanks for mentioning your association with a few of the original Shelby cars, I think thats pretty cool (really)! Also, I always enjoy seeing owners of the originals on the site around here, glad they have that little identifier to set them apart. I all ready miss not knowing WHICH cars there associated with, come on guys, list it for us again.

I didn't put that little Shelby Cobra emblem next to my name, ClubCobra did. If you don't get the self-effacing humor of the "mysterious..." comment, well....OK.
I have this nifty "AC Chassis" manual that came with my 289 and on the first page it gives top billing to AC Cars, LTD, and then mentions Shelby American. I also have an original 289 Cobra brochure. The front cover reads, "Shelby AC Cobra" and the inner page describes the collaboration between Shelby and AC. Seems like more than a supplier relationship to me.
I guess if we really want to be honest, correct, and follow the historical precedent that none other than Carroll Shelby established, then early CSX4000 aluminum body cars should really be "Shelby Kirkham Cobras".
OK. Enough from me on that. Probably more than enough for some!
I am personally in favor of listing all Cobra models, replicas, continuations, etc. in the upcoming and future registries. This is wonderful history of the incredible inspiration provided by the original series of cars and of the effort, time and pride of the owners and builders of all of these Cobras. I especially like the CSX 4000 series, particularly the aluminum body ones. My beef was with your downplaying of the important role AC Cars, Ltd played.
I like them all.
(And I wish I had a Ford GT!)

Jim: No disrespect. I agree with much of what you say. I just see Shelby as playing the more important role then AC. As I understand CS even downplayed ACs involvement as time went by and they played a minor role in the development of the Daytona and 427. Thats the way I see it. AC made the Ace and supplied the Ace chasis and body to SAI which converted them into Shelby Cobras. Thats my take. Take it or leave it but I think its factually sound.
Candidly I have no issue with guys listing what cars they have on the site. I don't see it as "bragging" or being egotistical as this is a car enthusiast site is it not? It nice and at time helpful to know who has what and many guys here have done exactly that.
I agree with your statement on the Registry too. If not for the original series there would be nothing thereafter. As far as I'm concerned the "originals" are the "brass ring" so to speak and the template to follow. No one is trying to elevate the Continuation Series to be an "original" but it does deserve recognition for what it is as stated by SAAC. Someone knocks the car. I simply defend it for what it is. Thats not "bragging", being "egotistical" nor elevating it beyond what it is nor does it mean a continuation owner is saying his is "better or prettier" then others. It is what SAAC has accepted it as. There are those here that can't accept that. Thats my point despite how its "twisted" by a few here with "CSX envy" who take every opprotunity to knock the car.
I also enjoyed the article featuring your car recently in I think it was Sports Car or Classic Car. Can't remember which but it was this past July.
BTW, you wouldn't want a Ford GT, Cowtowncobra has now declared they are "bastardized" "POS"
Jamo: You think I would be here without a heavy duty cup. As usual, I didn't start this but somehow wound up in the middle.
