Original Cobra bodies and chasis were outsourced. Shelby used AC to supply the rollers and with the 427 opted not to produce it inhouse and allowed AC to build the rollers. Fact.

There are parallels in the history of both series.

Yes, Oinie. I agree, it was funny but truth be told, after the laughing is over we are still left with the facts.... its in the registry on its own merits and the distinction in the era it was built as stated in SAAC home page. No secret there. Makes sense to distinguish old from new.

Interesting point. Billy Andrews told me there are only about 100 aluminum bodied Continuation seires Shelbys right now. Thats less then the original series. Pretty rare by any standard.

Oh look, a new way to add exclusivity to the car. I wonder how many of that 100 were painted black?

100 seems low to me. I thought I heard Kirkham had supplied them with 150 or more.

I think SAAC has a good idea to keep track of the K cars to prevent "air cars" in the future.

Jdog I think you should do it. Nothing wrong with having the current day aluminum body experts make the change. As mentioned they have been the source for restorations and repairs as well as supplied Shelby.

Exclamation No choice!

Well I guess after all this, I have to do it! It's not a matter of if, but when.

David, glad to see your 'listening', old pal, friend, Kemo.....oh never mind. Do you hear that? That's the cash register ringing from my 'CSX re-body package deal' idea. I can offer my car as a 'guinea pig'. You could photo the whole thing and use it for promotions.
If I had the 'discretionary funds' right now, I'd place the order today. You could 'reverse engineer' the fiberglass body and ,.....nevermind.

I wish I had a boat, so I could sell it!

Anybody want to buy an Ithica 12ga. s/s shotgun, valued at about $25,000?

I think having a car that had been worked on at the famed Kirkham 'Skunk-works' somewhere in the desert's of Utah, would only make it unique. As Jamo said there have been several CSX cars visit the Skunk-works, and they come back 'changed'.

Now where are the keys to the gun safe?

jdog
P.S. I was in the toy store the other day with my 3 year old nephew and I showed him a plastic car & a metal car. Guess what he said?................Oh, nevermind!

Evan,

I wonder what Shelby did with the other 100 or so frames and bodies we sold them??? (We have sold them around 200 frames and bodies).

jdog,

Just let us know when you are ready to polish some real metal.

David

If you can buy exactly the same part from the outsourcing manufacturer through another vendor , then that isn't necessarily a Shelby part.

Ok, if we live by this, then the CSX 7000 or CSX 4000 fiberglass cars made in Las Vegas would be the only Cobra's to claim 30% Shelby inside

Roughly what is the breakdown between 427 and 289 cars?

Default more money for the SAAC publishers?

Well, i wouldn't know, but if more "replica" Cobras are included in some part of the registry (which is as far as i know a private venture), then won't more expensive copies of the registry be sold, hence more money for the owners of SAAC?

If you put in the SPF cars, the KMP cars, then allow the thousands of FFR cars, just imagine the sales figures.

If i ran the registry, i would make every remotely Cobra connected automobile eligible. Then add the Mustang cars, and retire to Tuscany.

I am sure the Roman Centurians had the same feelings about their chariots.

all the best,

Hey, I'm just repeating what SAAC says boys. The only thing that separates the original Cobras from the Continuation Cobras is the time frame they were built. No mental masturbation here. For those that need a refresher please go to www.SAAC.com

4PIPES: Because your compelled to by the force of my arguments.

BillS: I'm still waiting to know what Shelbys your currently "attached to" if that means "own". Please we'd love to know. Whats the secret? Its gonna be in the registry anyway, right???? Or could it be we'll find you're the one thats masturbating.

CowtownCobra: OUCH!!! ROFLAO. You are either the best comedian on the planet, seriously in need of glasses or need meds for what appears to be the worst case of sour grapes to show up on this site. . Lets just say you're in the "minority" with your assesment of the Ford GT. But thats OK. Believe me it impresses and has impressed more then the 16 year olds that likely wouldn't even be impressed with your SB Lone Star. I could say "ALOT" of not nice things about your "LS" w/ a SB (easy pickin's) thats trying to be a BB but I'll be nice and take the high road so...all I'll say is enjoy your "SB Lone Star" and I'll enjoy my "POS" "bastardized" GT. ROFLAO
