Original Maroon color

I'm narrowing down my color choice and one of them is a dark maroon color. I saw what I believed to be an original color Maroon 427 street car at the infamous "Glass Car Company" in NJ. I worked next door when in college and this was one of the cars on his floor for about a year (along with the Daytona coupe).

I thought it was "Royal Maroon" used by Ford in 1968 and '69 but after seeing that in person, the Cobra was darker and richer. Anyone have any idea how to identify this color?
